With the right care and regular calibration, the measurement stays accurate.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Calibration:<\/strong> Calibrate before first use and after that whenever you doubt the value. Press CAL for 5 to 6 seconds. First <a href=\"https:\/\/meytec.eu\/en-ie\/buffer-solutions\/ph-buffer-solution\/ph-7\/\">pH 7<\/a>, then <a href=\"https:\/\/meytec.eu\/en-ie\/buffer-solutions\/ph-buffer-solution\/ph-4\/\">pH 4<\/a>, then <a href=\"https:\/\/meytec.eu\/en-ie\/buffer-solutions\/ph-buffer-solution\/ph-10\/\">pH 10<\/a>. The meter recognises the solution automatically. Always follow the manual.<\/li><li><strong>Cleaning:<\/strong> A dirty sensor measures slowly. Remove deposits with a special <a href=\"https:\/\/meytec.eu\/en-ie\/buffer-solutions\/cleaning-solution\/\">cleaning solution<\/a> (max. 15 minutes). Rinse the sensor with clean water before use and between the calibration points. Demineralised water may be used for rinsing.<\/li><li><strong>Storage:<\/strong> Always store the pH meter with the protective cap and never let the sensor dry out. Add a few drops of <a href=\"https:\/\/meytec.eu\/en-ie\/buffer-solutions\/kcl-storage-solution\/\">KCl storage solution 3 mol\/l<\/a> to the protective cap. Never store in demineralised water.<\/li><\/ul><h2>Calibrating the pH meter for swimming pool and aquarium<\/h2><p>If your <a href=\"https:\/\/meytec.eu\/en-ie\/ph-meter.html\">pH meter GT-500PH<\/a> is new or has not been used for a long time, calibrate at 3 points. After that, 1 or 2 points are enough; we recommend 2 points.
