1413 µS/cm EC calibration solution for EC probe and EC meter

1413 µS/cm (1.413 mS/cm at 25 °C) is the calibration point for hydroponics, drinking water and the most common EC measuring systems. NIST traceable, certificate of analysis per lot and SDS available. Available in 250 ml, 60 ml and 20 ml.

How to calibrate with 1413 µS/cm

First rinse the EC probe with clean water. If it is dirty or contaminated, first clean it with cleaning solution for electrodes. Always check the manual of your EC meter for correct calibration.

EC probes are usually stored dry, not in KCl; always consult the manual.

Conductivity standard 1413 µS/cm: sachet, small bottle or bottle

In the 20 ml sachet you place the EC probe directly: one sachet, one calibration. You buy the sachets per box of 25. If you calibrate occasionally, choose the 60 ml bottle: you calibrate several times in the bottle itself, as long as the solution does not become contaminated. If you calibrate often, choose the 250 ml bottle and pour a fresh dose into a clean beaker each time.

Storing conductivity standard 1413 µS/cm

Store the solution in its original, tightly closed packaging, cool and dry at 15–25 °C, protected from frost and direct sunlight, and away from strong acids or oxidising agents.

Frequently asked questions about 1413 µS/cm

When 1413 µS/cm instead of 12880 µS/cm?

1413 for hydroponics, drinking water and ordinary handhelds. 12880 for the high range and the pool salt tester. The manual decides.

May I pour used 1413 µS/cm back into the bottle?

No, you may not; that contaminates the whole bottle. Pour a fresh dose into a clean beaker or glass, carry out the calibration and dispose of the remaining solution correctly.

Do I store the EC probe in 1413 µS/cm?

No. EC probes are usually stored dry. Buffer solution is for calibrating.

Is Meytec 1413 µS/cm NIST traceable?

Yes. Every lot has a CoA. SDS and CoAs can be found under Downloads.

Does this conductivity standard fit all EC probes and EC meters?

Yes, this is an industry standard that can be used for all brands, probes and testers, including: Hanna, Milwaukee, Bluelab, Apera.
