pH meter for swimming pool and aquarium
A reliable pH measurement starts with a good meter. Our digital pH meter offers an accurate and stable measurement of acidity. Whether you are checking swimming pool water, aquarium or plant nutrients: this compact meter measures pH 0.00 to 14.00 with a precision of ±0.05 and has a built-in temperature sensor with automatic temperature compensation.
Thanks to the IP65 housing, the meter is dust-tight and resistant to water jets (not for full immersion). The large digital display remains readable in low light. Batteries (4× LR44) are included.
pH meter applications
Our pH meter is designed for versatile use.
- Swimming pool: A correct pH value is vital for pleasant water quality and optimal chlorine action. With this pH meter you quickly measure the pH value of your swimming pool water.
- Aquarium: A constant pH balance is indispensable for a stable living environment for your fish. Measure and check the pH value regularly.
- Hydroponics: Plants absorb nutrients best at the right pH. Use the meter as a check alongside your pH dosing system.
- Laboratory and water treatment: This meter also provides a reliable measurement for professional checks.
pH meter calibration and maintenance
A pH meter is a precision instrument. With the right care and regular calibration, the measurement stays accurate.
- Calibration: Calibrate before first use and after that whenever you doubt the value. Press CAL for 5 to 6 seconds. First pH 7, then pH 4, then pH 10. The meter recognises the solution automatically. Always follow the manual.
- Cleaning: A dirty sensor measures slowly. Remove deposits with a special cleaning solution (max. 15 minutes). Rinse the sensor with clean water before use and between the calibration points. Demineralised water may be used for rinsing.
- Storage: Always store the pH meter with the protective cap and never let the sensor dry out. Add a few drops of KCl storage solution 3 mol/l to the protective cap. Never store in demineralised water.
Calibrating the pH meter for swimming pool and aquarium
If your pH meter GT-500PH is new or has not been used for a long time, calibrate at 3 points. After that, 1 or 2 points are enough; we recommend 2 points. Do not immerse the meter deeper than the MAX line.
Which buffer solution for your pH meter?
The meter recognises pH 7.00, pH 4.01 and pH 10.01: those are exactly the values of our pH 7, pH 4 and pH 10 buffer solution. For 2 points, choose the set pH 4 and pH 7 or pH 7 and pH 10, with 10 sachets of 20 ml per value.
