ORP buffer solution 468 mV for calibrating ORP probe and ORP meter
ORP buffer solution 468 mV (±5 mV at 25 °C) is the point that laboratory and industrial systems often ask for, as do some dosing systems for swimming pools. NIST traceable, certificate of analysis per lot and SDS available. Available in 250 ml and 60 ml. This ORP buffer solution is also called ORP buffer.
How to calibrate with 468 mV
First rinse the ORP probe with clean water. If it is dirty or contaminated, first clean it with cleaning solution for probes. Always check the manual of your dosing system for a correct calibration of your ORP probe.
ORP calibration solutions are corrosive, so never leave the ORP probe in the solution longer than necessary and rinse thoroughly after calibration.
ORP buffer solution 468 mV: 250 ml or 60 ml
If you calibrate often, choose the ORP buffer solution 468 mV 250 ml and pour a fresh dose into a clean beaker each time. If you calibrate occasionally, choose the ORP buffer solution 468 mV 60 ml: you place the ORP probe directly into the bottle and calibrate several times, as long as the solution does not become contaminated.
Storing ORP buffer solution 468 mV
Store the solution cool, dry and tightly closed in its original packaging, upright, preferably at 5–25 °C, protected from frost and direct sunlight, and away from strong bases, strong oxidising agents, reducing agents or metals.
Frequently asked questions about ORP buffer solution 468 mV
Can I pour used 468 mV back into the bottle?
No, you may not. Pour a fresh dose into a clean beaker or glass, carry out the calibration and discard the remaining solution.
Do I store the ORP probe in 468 mV?
No, always store an ORP probe in KCl storage solution 3 mol/l for probes. Demineralised water may only be used for rinsing, never for storage. ORP calibration solution is corrosive: no longer in the solution than necessary.
Is Meytec 468 mV NIST traceable?
Yes. Every lot has a CoA. SDS and CoAs can be found under Downloads.
Does this buffer solution fit all ORP probes and ORP meters?
Yes, this ORP buffer solution is a standard reference and can be used with the majority of ORP controllers: Sugar Valley, Hayward, Zodiac, AstralPool, Bayrol, Hanna, Milwaukee, Seko, Kripsol…
