ORP buffer solution 475 mV for calibrating ORP probe and ORP meter

ORP buffer solution 475 mV (±5 mV at 25 °C) is the point that most swimming pool dosing systems ask for when calibrating the ORP probe. NIST traceable, certificate of analysis per lot and SDS available. Available in 250 ml, 60 ml and 20 ml. This ORP buffer solution is also called ORP buffer.

How to calibrate with 475 mV

First rinse the ORP probe with clean water. If it is dirty or contaminated, first clean it with cleaning solution for probes. Always check the manual of your dosing system for a correct calibration of your ORP probe.

ORP calibration solutions are corrosive, so never leave the ORP probe in the solution longer than necessary and rinse well after calibration.

Packs:

ORP buffer solution for the swimming pool

In the 20 ml sachet and in the 60 ml bottle, you place the ORP probe directly in the solution. From the 250 ml bottle, pour a fresh dose into a clean beaker each time. If you also calibrate the pH probe, 475 mV comes together with pH 7 and pH 4 or pH 10 in our calibration sets pH and ORP.

Storing ORP buffer solution 475 mV

Store the solution cool, dry and tightly closed in its original packaging, upright, preferably at 5–25 °C, protected from frost and direct sunlight, and away from strong bases, strong oxidising agents, reducing agents or metals.

Frequently asked questions about ORP buffer solution 475 mV

Can I pour used 475 mV back into the bottle?

No, you may not. Pour a fresh dose into a clean beaker or glass, carry out the calibration and discard the remaining solution.

Do I store the ORP probe in 475 mV?

No, always store an ORP probe in KCl storage solution 3 mol/l for probes. Demineralised water may only be used for rinsing, never for storage. ORP calibration solution is corrosive: no longer in the solution than necessary.

Is Meytec 475 mV NIST traceable?

Yes. Every lot has a CoA. SDS and CoAs can be found under Downloads.

Does this buffer solution fit all ORP probes and ORP meters?

Yes, this ORP buffer solution is a standard reference and can be used with the majority of ORP controllers: Sugar Valley, Hayward, Zodiac, AstralPool, Bayrol, Hanna, Milwaukee, Seko, Kripsol…
